Remix ⟷ Culture presents Tanfis II

An overview of the process and artistic creations of Remix ⟷ Culture's second Tanfis residency program. The Tanfis project is a series of multidisciplinary residencies facilitating collaborations between NY-based traditional musicians, storytellers, remix artists, and DJs each time focusing on a particular grouping of underrepresented and/or misrepresented communities. In July 2023, we began work on Tanfis II, this time focusing on NY-based artists from Palestinian, Syrian, Lebanese, and Iraqi diaspora communities.

سيدي موسى حومتي زمان في مراكش. كبرنا مع هاد الاغاني ، كانت تغنيها كل نساء العائلة الكبيرة في المناسبات في بيتنا. هاد الغناء كانو المراكشيين القدام خاصة الاصل الامازيغي او الروداني او العروبي يغنوه عادي في البيوت ، الهواري و العروبي المراكشي شعر قديم فيه اغاني خرافية. لكن العروبي يموت مع الاسف
